I first started making these treats when I needed something quick but still visually impressive for small gatherings and special evenings at home. Over time, I have experimented with different coatings, decorations, and color combinations to see how versatile they can really be.
What I learned is that they are incredibly flexible—you can dress them up for a romantic night in, keep them simple for a casual dessert, or decorate them to fit events like baby showers or birthday parties.
The process is surprisingly quick, usually taking me around 15 to 30 minutes from start to finish once everything is prepared. I have tried different melting methods and tools, including ready-made dipping containers as well as standard candy melts, and both work well depending on what I have on hand.
For this version, I used milk chocolate candy melts for a smooth and classic finish, but I often switch between milk, dark, or colored melts depending on the occasion.
It’s one of those recipes I rely on when I want something easy, adaptable, and still impressive enough to serve guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 container of Wilton Candy Melt Heat & Dip or 1 Bag of Wilton Candy Melts in a microwave safe bowl

  • 1 lb Fresh Strawberries with stems

Directions

  • Clean and dry the strawberries, set aside.
  • Place the candy melts in a microwave safe container. The one I purchased came in a microwave safe container. Microwave container at 50% power or defrost setting for one minute. Stir thoroughly in container. Return to microwave stirring at 30-second intervals until smooth and completely melted. Do not overheat and use caution when handing as the contents will be hot.
  • You can either stick a toothpick in the top where the stem is and hold the stem back onto the toothpick or hold the strawberry by the stem and leaves. Place the strawberry in the melted chocolate, twirling it around to cover the entire strawberry. Pull it back out of the container and spin it to allow any extra chocolate to drip off back in the container.
  • If you want to add sprinkles, hold the strawberry over a paper plate and spin the strawberry while evenly shaking the sprinkles onto the warm chocolate. Set strawberries on a silicone mat or parchment paper to cool. Once cooled you can drizzle another color of chocolate over the strawberries for extra decoration. Once cooled, can be stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator for a few days.
